Review of the ten-year presence of the exhibition TOURIST PANORAMA
Since 1996 - the year it was launched - the exhibition has become a point of reference for the tourism society, has highlighted the Greek countryside, the Internal Tourism and the contribution of Greek travellers to the increase of tourism-related businesses' turnover.
The exhibition has presented and established unknown Greek tourist destinations, has promoted alternative ways of tourism through the participation of corresponding exhibitors and has been attracting an annual average of more than 30,000 visitors - professionals and broader public.
The organization of events and presentations during the exhibition, the most important being the announcements of the Heads of the Government, the National Greek Tourism Organization and tourism bodies, have stimulated a productive dialogue and exchange of views.
Another important factor has been the continuous presence of Local Authorities, led by General Secretaries of Regions, Heads of Prefectures, Mayors and local government executives, in impressively organized stands and events.
The Organizers' commitment to the constant qualitative improvement of the exhibition's image has been manifested by the "aesthetic" of stands on the one hand and by the continuous upgrading of the exhibition venues on the other.
The large scale, direct and indirect promotion and advertisement of the exhibition in all the media with significant promotional activities has contributed to the diffusion of its reputation, both in Greece and abroad.
Every year the exhibition honours one Greek region, by offering a special place in the exhibition site and in the promotion and advertising plan. The honoured regions in the past decade were: Arcadia in 1996, the Northern Aegean in 1997, Crete in 1998, Macedonia in 1999, the Peloponnese in 2000, Piraeus and the Saronic Islands in 2001, the Dodecanese in 2002, the Ionian Islands in 2003 and Athens, the Olympic Cities and Cyprus in 2004.
Personalities from the fields of tourism, culture, local government and the broader economic sector have been awarded from Kalofolias Group and have honoured the exhibition with their presence.
Important surveys by Kalofolias Group and EXPRESS Financial Newspaper have taken place aiming at pinpointing tourism-related problems and resolving them.
