The next time you visit the enchanting castle-city of Monemvasia, and preferably before you begin your wandering along its narrow alleys, pay a visit to this brand new museum. This cozy, small museum provides visitors with historical testimonies of the public and private lives of the Monemvasia inhabitants, as well as with pamphlets with plenty of information about the history of the local community. Posted in the centre of the hall, a map highlights the most important monuments and offers suggestions on several routes to assist visitors in better planning their wandering. The museum collection includes urns, household vessels, items of personal use, as well statues and architectural fragments from old churches of Monemvasia.
